Connor Bays is an Associate and Chief of Staff at Common Wealth. Connor joined Common Wealth from Canopy Labs, a high-growth software analytics platform backed by Y Combinator and Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures. At Canopy Labs Connor helped lead the sales and business development functions, building new partnerships with Fortune 500 clients in the retail and travel sectors. Previously he managed fundraising and alumni relations for the Loran Scholars Foundation, Canada’s largest merit-based undergraduate scholarship.
Connor has worked for both federal and provincial members of parliament, and published research on government transitions in the Canadian Parliamentary Review. In the community, he is a member of the Toronto executive of the Open Democracy Project – a not-for-profit startup working to increase the accessibility of political campaign tools and knowledge. Originally from Alberta, he is a graduate of McGill University as a Loran Scholar and Greville Smith Scholar and serves on the board of the McGill Alumni Association in Toronto.
